Achieving Your Ideal Smile
Dental reconstruction is a comprehensive approach to restoring a person's smile and oral function. It involves multiple procedures to repair or replace damaged, missing, or misaligned teeth. This may include dental implants, partial or full dentures, crowns, bridges, veneers, and other restorative treatments. The goal of dental reconstruction is to improve the appearance, comfort, function, and overall health of your mouth. Cosmetic Dentistry
Dental veneers are one of the most common cosmetic dentistry treatments we offer, helping patients correct imperfections of their teeth, including chips, stains, gaps, or misalignment. Porcelain veneers are naturally translucent like normal teeth, are incredibly durable, and resistant to staining and chipping.
In order to ensure a proper fit without appearing bulky or unnatural, porcelain veneers require that your natural teeth be slightly adjusted. To do this, we take off a small portion of tooth enamel so the dental veneers can fit comfortably over top. One of the most important steps of the treatment process is taking impressions of your adjusted teeth. These impressions are used to create your custom dental veneers to ensure a comfortable and natural fit. During your return visit, we will place the veneers on your teeth and make any final adjustments so that your bite feels comfortable and your smile looks natural. Finally, we will permanently bond the dental veneers to your teeth and you will leave our office with a brand new beautiful smile!
Dental veneers are one of the most common cosmetic dentistry treatments we offer, helping patients correct imperfections of their teeth, including chips, stains, gaps, or misalignment. As opposed to porcelain, composite veneers can be completed within a day in most cases. This is typically an additive procedure in which composite filling material is placed, cured, and shaped directly onto the teeth.
Composite veneers may not last as long as porcelain veneers but still result in an esthetically pleasing smile that matches the shade of the surrounding teeth. There is no need to wait for the laboratory to fabricate the veneers, as the dentist will bond the composite material the same day. Call us today to see if you are a candidate for composite veneers!
Teeth can become darkened or discolored over time for many reasons, including the routine consumption of staining foods and drinks, poor oral hygiene, medication use, and even injury or illness. If your teeth are discolored, stained or yellowed, you may be reluctant to smile or eat in front of others, affecting both your self-esteem and confidence. It may be tempting to visit the drugstore for toothpaste, mouthwash, and whitening strips so you can bleach your teeth at home. Did you know that these products are usually too ineffective to provide satisfactory results or no results at all, and some can even damage your tooth enamel?
For truly great teeth whitening, it is necessary to have your teeth whitened by trained professionals who use industry-proven methods and the latest technology. Our practice is proud to offer prescription-level teeth whitening systems that cannot be found on supermarket or drugstore shelves. From in-office, high-concentration whitening to convenient take-home trays, we have a teeth whitening solution that is perfectly catered to your needs!
30% of adults have black triangles, clinically known as open gingival embrasures. This can result from bone loss, recession of the gum line, and sometimes movement of the teeth. Dark spaces between teeth can age a smile. Teeth with black triangles are also prone to food accumulation and tartar build-up. In cases where the enamel is perfectly healthy, teeth do not need to be masked with veneers. Using the Bioclear Method, we can conservatively close these gaps to rejuvenate your smile. Call today to receive a comprehensive exam and see if Black Triangle Closure is an option for you!
Dentures
We provide partial dentures at our office to replace multiple missing teeth or full dentures to replace an entire dental arch. No matter what your oral condition necessitates, the artificial teeth are shaped and color-matched to fit the look of your natural teeth or your smile as a whole, providing a seamless transition to a new smile. Custom dentures fitted to the unique contours of your gum line provide greater security and are less likely to shift or fall out when in place with pastes or adhesives. To ensure the greatest level of comfort, function, and aesthetics, we take great care that the fit properly and look natural when you eat, smile, and talk.
We offer conventional full dentures to replace an entire dental arch. These prosthetics rely on suction to be stabilized in the mouth. In some cases, an immediate or temporary denture can be made if teeth need to be removed. Sometimes, the suction that a conventional denture provides is not enough to hold the dentures in place, and more support is needed. This is where an implant-supported overdenture comes into play. By partnering with local dental specialists, they will be able to place your implants in the best position in your jaw. Their correct placement frees us to focus on aesthetically beautiful restorations that provide the greatest long-term function and health benefits. One implants are placed and healed, attachments can be placed on the implants to allow the dentures to snap into place, providing extra retention.

Other Services
Implants, which are essentially anchors in the jawbone that can serve as "roots" for prosthetic teeth, are a common option for replacement of one or more teeth. After determining the desired tooth replacement plan, we coordinate with multiple oral surgeons and periodontists in the area to have the implants placed in the desired location within the jawbone. After 3-6 months, you will return to our office for impressions to have the final restoration fabricated and placed. We carefully color-match and shape the restoration to flawlessly match your other teeth and work closely with the dental laboratory to ensure your dental crown, bridge, or prosthesis is aesthetic, functional, and fits comfortably.
Occasionally, management of particular conditions such as worn teeth or certain bite related issues necessitate rebuilding all of the teeth to their original shape. The process of full mouth rehabilitation involves meticulously rebuilding each tooth to a more ideal shape while also ensuring that the teeth are still able to function harmoniously. This is different from full mouth "dentures" because we are still incorporating natural teeth. Any missing teeth are replaced utilizing dental implants or adjacent teeth for support, if necessary. The result is a beautiful and comfortable smile you can be confident in for years.
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the most complex joint in the human body and management of pain and dysfunction in this joint can be complicated. Many anatomic factors can contribute to issues with the TMJ’s including bone, disc, ligament, muscle, and nerve. Additionally other challenges can lead to discomfort in the TMJ’s such as brain-mediated conditions, airway-related conditions, bite-related conditions, pathology, trauma history, and more. The team at Tennessee River Dental is experienced in the evaluation and management of TMJ dysfunction and can help patients work toward a life without facial pain.
